modern subwoofer connections

hey how's it going? I like many people have a modern subwoofer set-up for my living room area. I want to use this sub with my ka-8100. my sub is a polk audio I have had for quite sometime. how do I connect it to the vintage kenwoods outputs? I know the sub accepts high and low levels and has just the one RCA in.

If your subwoofer has it's own crossover (doesn't need the LFE channel) you can run a pair of speaker wires to it into the sub's "High" inputs. You can run a pair of fronts off the "A" channel and the sub off the "B" channel. If yur sub is equipped with a pass through connection you can run the fronts speaker wires to the sub and then from the sub to your fronts.
 
hey thanks for the imput, I forgot to mention its a powered sub. How do the connections vary as opposed to the former post? If any?
 
Sinse you say your sub has high and low level inputs, assuming you are using just one set of speakers from your KA-8100 on 'SPEAKER A', connect speaker wires from 'SPEAKER B' left & right, to the high level inputs on your powered sub. The RCA jack on the sub, is meant for newer surround receivers that has a 'SUB OUT' jack. If your KA-8100 has pre-outs and main ins, you can connect a 'Y' adaptor to either left or right pre-out, to the RCA in on the sub.
