Modernised take on vintage console

I'm not far along with this little project, but just wanted to post what I have so far. I picked up a no-name console a while back which had a GEC 912 mono tube amp and Collaro 2010 / Garrard TPA10 turntable combo in it. Due to space considerations, I down sized it a bit and modernised the look.

I just need to come up with case for the amp and better innards for the speaker now

Let me clarify, you canibalized a mono audio console and build a plywood cabinet for the speaker and put the amp and turntable on a table? Or was the TT in the top of speaker cabinet and amp in lower opening of speaker box? You could build a matching plywood cabinet for amp w/ a screen cutout on top to vent tubes.

Anyways, very cool. I had a mono system a while back to hook my phone to.

This was the original setup -

I took the amp out of the cabinet and the TT was just sat on lower shelf. The speaker cabinet is a separate unit. I just needed the whole thing to occupy a bit less floor space, so stacking the amp and TT seemed like a good idea. The cabinet is quite cheaply made even though it looks nice, so I decided to dispense with it.

Thanks but I don't need to - decided to sell the amp and turntable to fund another project. Within hours of listing the amp it sold for WAY more than I paid for it

Yeah the idea was appealing but in reality I listen to way more stereo material and I can't be bothered mixing or splitting into mono so decided to let someone else enjoy it.
