Modified HH Scott LK-150 value

Hi folks. This belongs to a friend of mine, and I'm considering buying it. It's an HH Scott LK-150 in good condition, but it has a replacement power transformer and was modified by a previous owner to run 8417 tubes instead of 6550s. Circuit has been modified but I'm not sure how extensively. It is working currently. Tubes are vintage USA. What do you think a fair price on this would be?

Is the amp currently usable as it sits? A nice LK-150 is $1500+ but 8417s and a "new" PT introduce some big variables. I've not followed the 8417 but don't see them as a plus. A single will set you back the same as a quad of 6550s. For the PT, do you have any details on it. Was it off something else or a newly made one to Scott spec? It seems to me more of the basis for a rebuild back to original spec 6550s if the PT is deemed to be OK and if not, sourcing a better match to replace it. I think I'd be in the ~$750-800 range for an offer unless there is more info on the PT.

It's usable but I don't really trust it. The PT I'm not sure about--I don't think it's to original spec, and it doesn't look as big as the original. A correct LK-150 replacement is around $220 from Heyboer.

If output transformers & chassis in good shape I'd view it as a solid candidate for a complete rebuild plus needing all new tubes, and power transformer.

Make offer accordingly; extra holes & chassis boogering detracts + ~$500 in parts needed and ~8-10 hours teardown & reassembly.
