Modify Yamaha Integrated?

Was wondering if it would be possible to modify my A700 integated so I can use it as a preamp for my MX-2, and is there anyone in the greater Baltimore/Washington area that does this type of thing?

I think your money would be better spent on a Yamaha preamp and it would probably cost less. It is hard to go wrong with any of the preamps Yamaha has made and I'd bet they would sound better then the A700.

I think you can do this after the Main-Direct switch, and before the subsonic filter switch. This point is identified by SL for the left channel, and SR for the right channel on the schematic I have. Look at the main board, and a small board for the Main-Direct and Auto-A switches, you should see connection points identified as SL and SR on them, and a wire between those points. If you cut this wire, I think you can ad Pre-Out and Main-In jacks. A coupling switch (DPST) would be nice too! It looks like the subsonic filter is part of the feedback branch on the power amplifier. P.S. I have no experience with this amplifier. I go by the schematic.
