Mods to RS-1B

I would love new STICKY threads for each of these subjects for all to see.

My suggestion would be:

* Infinity EMIM's (Observations, Repairs and Modifications)
* Infinity EMIT's (Observations, Repairs and Modifications)
* Infinity QRS (inspired us to build these speakers)
* Infinity RS-1b (Observations, Repairs and Modifications)
* Infinity IRS Series III and Series V (Observations, Repairs and Modifications)

We could do others but this would cover 98% of my posts.
Just click the "New Thread" button to the upper left of the threads listing in this Infinity forum and create a new one on those topics you've mentioned. Then I'm sure that the threads can be easily linked to in the "Infinity Information on the Internet" thread that's already a sticky or made into one by Negotiableterms or Army as they see fit.

Yes we would be happy to help!

Mark as far as stickies go we would like to keep them to a minimum so that the Infinity forum page doesn't get cluttered up with too many of them. With that said feel free to add to the emit & emim repair thread that is there. As for the rest that you suggest, post them and we'll consider each thread :thmbsp:

Latest Set of OLD SCHOOL DiPolar Ribbon Speakers Just Finished

Hi,

Just thought I'd send some pictures around.
These are the latest set of completely DIPOLAR speakers I have made.
I finished them yesterday.
They are completely DIPOLAR right down to the tweeters.

They consist of (Each Channel):

Tweeters:
6 of my Special Rebuilt Fully Dipolar Infinity Full Line Source EMIT Tweeters
5 of my Special Rebuilt Fully Dipolar Infinity Half Line Source EMIT Tweeters

Midrange:
1 Carver 60 inch Dipolar Ribbon

Woofers:
2 Audio Research Magnaplanar Tympani 1-D Woofer Panels

These speakers can be Bi-Amped or Tri-Amped.

When Bi-Amped the passive crossover between the Midrange and the tweeters is a simple 6 dB/Octave High Pass Filter in series with the Dipolar EMIT tweeter array (which is removed when Tri-Amping).

All the wiring is Monster Cable.

Enjoy the pictures.

Michael

Those look great, Michael, and I'm sure they sound even better.

Out of curiosity, how did you arrive at the horizontal spacing between the EMITs and the BG?
