MoFi, Pure Pleasure, etc.

I'm very happy with a couple of MoFi Sinatra lps that I invested in. Unfortunately, MoFi is very limited on it's jazz menu.

Anybody tried Pure Pleasure? It's a British company with a pretty good jazz re-issue collection.

Any other suggestions along this line? I'm pretty weary of buying noisy, used records.

I don't have anything on the Pure Pleasure label but I've found that, especially on vinyl, some of the reissues on the traditional labels, Blue Note and Verve for instance, are excellent.

Pure Pleasure is a quality label. And many of their records are cut by Kevin Gray. They cut with analog sources as much as possible. Music Matters is your best bet for Blue Note Jazz (do remember they are a bit pricey but superb quality). Speakers Corner also is another good source for quality jazz.

I have about a half dozen Pure Pleasure titles and they have all been excellent. Very quiet surfaces and great sound.

I have a SRV's Couldn't Stand the Weather on Pure Pleasure and it is truly excellent in every way.
