Monitor Audio Silver RX8 vs B&W 601 S3

So a guy at the store said since the model is older, he would sell me the rx8 for ~1100. I think this is a steal consider these speakers cost ~1800. Now I would have to sell my B&W 601 S3 in order to buy these new speakers. However, are the RX8 a clear and better speaker and worth the money over the 601 s3?

I heard the rx8 through a marantz 5004 and it was pretty good. It was definitely powerful and warm. The 601 s3 on the other are just a classic sound to me and very B&Wish. I dont know. I think I already know my answer, but I would like your guys opinion!!! :scratch2:

601 were OK speaker for their time. But RX8 is definitely better. Also look if you can find left over B&W 683 from first generation, they are worth consider for similar money.

I had 601's. They are nothing special.
Rx6 are very highly rated and Rx8 should be even better.

Thanks guys. I pulled the trigger on the RX8. Best decision ever with the price I paid for it!
 
Congratulations. I heard a pair of MA speakers about 10 years ago when I was looking for something new. They were wonderful sounding! I don't remember which ones they were but I think they were similar to what you got.
