Monitors for Vintage Scott Tubes

I've been enjoying my restored Scott LK-72 joined up to some DCM TimeWindow III speakers quite a bit lately. Kinda makes sense after I read that DCM's Steve Eberbach used to sell his early speakers paired with flea-market Scott and Fisher amps.

Anyway, I always fear a future need for downsizing or moving, and I've been thinking about trying out some small monitors to replace the big DCMs.

I'm into imaging and soundstage more than anything, so the legendary Rogers LS3/5A is where I started looking... but I've read that there may be some similar choices out there without having to pay for the legendary name. Suggestions anyone?

Perhaps a more interesting question would be, are the LS3/5As worth the $1K+ that they bring, or is a good bit of that price due to collectibility and nostalgia?
