id jump on that,You couldnt even buy the output tubes for that price..i had the matching tuner.it was ok but nothing special.

It might be the silver front panels, but they look a lot more contemporary than most other mono equipment I'm familiar with (which usually had a gold or brown panel, that hasn't aged well).

The line fuse is removed from the amp in one photo; could be a sign of trouble. Could be a fun project for $50, or a score if it only needs a cord. I don't see an MPX output on the tuner; maybe it is hidden. If there is none, you would not be able to use an external stereo decoder.

I'd jump on that if I were closer. Been looking for an inexpensive tube tuner for a while. Even a fixer upper.

I just noticed that the power tubes....the 6L6GB in that amp are Coin Base tubes. I don' know if that makes them better....but certainly it makes them pretty rare.

I looked around and couldn't find any at all like that from RCA.....there are some Russian ones.

I wonder if they used those to keep the height of the amp lower and more compact?

Don't think rca made a coin base 6l6gb.they did make a coin base 7591 though.i wonder if someone stuck a pair of those in and blew the fuse.?

Indeed. Looks more modern than my 1961 Pilot 654, but Radiomuseum.org says 1959 which is still pretty late for mono gear, weren't stereo LPs out in 1957? and I assume if you were high speed you could have had a stereo tape player earlier than that.

3 of these amplifiers have sold on Ebay recently.....for between $250 and $350. One might be a duplicate sale...

They all had those Coin Base tubes...
