Monster HTS-3600 MKII power center - good for hi-fi system?

is anyone using Monster hts-3600 mkII for hi-fi system?
i noticed that each outlet is labeled for dvr, dvd, processor, and etc. are they just for labeling? or designed particularly for them? i need a power conditioner for my vintage hi-fi system, and wondering if this should be good.
any experience with the unit? thanks.

I have a smaller rackmount version, the Pro2500...works great.

no idea for the monster, but Isotek's have a special outlet on their powerconditioner for the preamp & poweramp (one for each) and the rest for sources, the pre & power outlets are less filtered so they won't influence the sound dynamics.

I'm using a computer surge supressor, the flat kind that's designed to go under a monitor; in my case it sits under the preamp. It has five individually switched outlets -- which lets me avoid using five aged power switches -- and seems not to have any bad effects. Cheap, too.

I have an old Tice Power Block. Works great, makes a noticeable difference. Just an AC conditioner, no supression.

I use an HTS-3500 MKII in my main system, and an earlier HTS-3500 in my secondary.

The outlets have different filtering, and I would hook them up as labeled.

Yours should be fine for a vintage system.

It does nothing of the sort in my Vintage Pioneer system. I have not only my whole SHRINE system connected to a HTS3500 MKII it but also our TV DVD VCR and TIVO CABLE setup.

I can find NO determent to using one in a system.

YMMV I guess.

Here is the way to set it up: Use your Power amp (or receiver) with the absolute minimum filtering possible. Too much filtering on your amp will cause current limiting, which can adversely effect your sound.

Use all digital sources (CD player, DVD player, etc) with the maximum filtering possible (stage 3). If you use a TV with your system, it should get connected to at least the stage 2 outlets. Everything else really doesn't really matter very much which outlet is chosen. This is because the rest of your components will not be very sensitive to current limiting or RFI.

If yours is anything like mine, it'll have a few outlets that are marked as "high current"...those are what I have my power amps plugged into.

I don't think plugging a turntable into a "digital" marked outlet will blow up anything though :

Maybe Mark your system isn't very resolving for you to hear any differences. Sure not all systems will yield the same results that is why having a system capable of resolution is not only crucial to hear change in equipment and cabling but to also hear all the detail and ambiance on the recording.

Funny I didn't notice any of those problems associated with my monster power conditioner. I didn't notice any change for the better either. The main reason I use it is for peace of mind knowing that I'm attempting to do the right thing. Not to go off topic but weren't you also challenging the merits of hpm 100 speakers also yesterday?

I saw a dramatic change in my TV picture. Audio-wise, I didn't hear much of a difference.

I like the peace of mind against surges, and the warranty.:thmbsp:

I agree it works great on video when i tried mine.

Mine save my rig, A transformer that feeds my house blew and fired the
microwave, The power center went into alarm mode, shut everything
down as it should have. Once the machine alarms it cooked, Monster sent
a new one within 48 hours. It worked.
