Monster interconnects

I needed a couple RCA cables the other day and for the sake of convenience went to Radio Shack. They were clearing out Monster brand 2M stereo cables at $1.99/pair. I think it's a very good deal.

They're double shielded with twin signal conductors. The regular price was $24.99 :saywhat:.

Be careful about the grip of death. Monster connectors need to be turned while trying to remove them. Something about the spiral.

Do they need to be turned clockwise to put on and counter-clockwise to remove, like screw threads? Hmmm, I'll have to check any of my old Monster connectors to see how that is.

A lot of people say the Monster stuff is over-hyped but how can you go wrong for 2 bucks a pair? You can't get even the cheap of the cheap "free with the tv" cables for that price.

Yup. It seems that RS also has the same 2 meter cables in triple-wide (instead of double, intended for component video) at the same $1.99, even better. I didn't notice the triples at the store I visited.

Damn only in stores. Of course it doesn't come up with any available in my area either. :thumbsdn:

Still a good deal if someone can find them.

He didn't say you needed to turn them a specific direction; you just need to rotate them as you're pulling. This helps ease them on and off better than pulling or pushing them straight.

Quite sure you couldn't make them yourself any cheaper than that.

$2.00 was an amazing deal! (Even if they do say Monster on them)

Heading down stairs to the store in my building at lunch time to see if they have any.

I've got a bunch of these cables myself I got for free. I like them, and I've never had the death grip problem with any of them.

The finder app on the site showed one of my local stores still had stock. They had to hunt around the back and only found one. I would have bought a dozen at $1.97. There's also a number of Monster HDMI cables on closeout for under $5, including the 1000HD model which retails around $60, but I can't find any place with stock on those either. The NYC metro area seems to be wiped out of these deals.
