Monteverdi Model H340 - rare receiver?

Ever since I got into vintage audio, I try to seek out uncommon and rare items. One of them I posted already in a speaker forum - Synergistics speakers. This time I came across another piece, that doesnt seem to have a lot of info about - Monteverdi H340 receiver. This one is one owner, even came with original owners manual. Was a bit dusty, but works fine, it seems. A bit of cleaning, some deoxit on pots and we are in business. My preliminary testing of it reveals to me a pretty nice receiver - good sound, very musical. I like that it has rather uncommon Midrange control as well as Bass and Treble - dont see this on many receivers AFAIK. Need to test it more with different speakers and music, but so far I like it:





Anyone else has one? Or any experience/info about the company?

Monteverdi was the high end line of Lloyds. Who was well known for budget portable radios and tape units and compact Stereo units and a few consoles. This is likely Japanese OEM made. And should be 15 or so WPC into 8 ohms, a decent little receiver, and by Monteverdi's standard their top of the line.

Reminds me very much of the rat shack sta-series or with the analog meters earlier battleships for tandy corp. made by fostex or some part of that corporation as tandy was pretty big networked and parts showed up at assembly. If the volume and tone controls are 'clickable' then very much in the sta design of things. got a close up on the face and rear? Like to see the mains caps. Wonder if elna's and how big a transformer inside.

Volume and tone controls are clickable. I will post more pics later, when I get a chance. I, too, am very much reminded of Realistic models of that time. Also, just like Realistics, this one is made in Korea. From what I can peak through the grate screen - transformer is pretty large.

Any chance you could share a copy of that owner’s manual? I just bought a Monteverdi H330 and am going to need some documentation when I take it in to a repair shop.

H330 does not have the 8-track, as your H340 has, but the manual should still be useful. (I am also searching for an H330 manual). My H330 is in great physical condition but it’s innards are so old and need some serious TLC.

My first stereo was Monteverdi and now I have one again for sentimental reasons. Would love to get it in tip top shape, inside and out.
