Moon Machines...

I was 14 then and somewhat of an early Star Trek fan, so this showed where we were (landing on the moon) and where we could go (24th Century Interstellar space travel), if we just darn choose to go in that direction.

Solve our problems at home,

Solve our petty differences.

Resolve to work together.

Resolve to pro-gress to a more inclusive and improved standard of living for all.

Resolve to give everyone a chance at education, and then let them do great things.

We landed on the moon, because IMO, we were given a challenge, a tremendous challenge, and many said it would be hard to do. I'd like to think we are still up for that challenge today, just give us a fighting chance to do it.

Yeah, Doc. In 1949, 20 yrs B4 the Moon landing, jets were pretty much Hot ****, & they REALLY didn't know all that much about the Moon... In 1939, scientists were convinced that we would NEVER go faster than the speed of sound, atomic power was "Mere Moonshine"...If we had kept up the pace of development since 1969 as we had in the 20-30 yrs before, who knows what we would have accomplished by now...I guess its just more fun to squabble & kill each other than it is to rise above our base instincts & REALLY "Reach for the Stars"...
