More 6SN7 photos

If anyone read my recent post of wanting to build a set amp around some tubes I just bought at an estate sale, I had posted a photo of some of the 2A3's, red base 5692's and others I had found in the boxes I bought.
Seems like there is lots of interest in the 6SN7 tubes so I thought I'd post some more photos. A young woman that couldn't have been over 25 sold these to me and only said that her parents had them and she had no idea where they came from...mabey her grandfather. She thought they were junk and worthless and I saved her from tossing them if they didn't sell. Who ever originally owned them must have been a 6SN7 nut...

There were 5 NOS boxed 6SN7 tubes including 2 Sylvania 6SN7WGTA's in Jan boxes.
Here's a couple more photos of the rest of the used 6SN7 tubes. I tried to pull out the 6SL7's and 5691's but there may be one or two in there. The first photo is the red base 5692's and a few other ones I knew right off were good tubes. I pulled a few better ones out of the rest for the second photo. The brown base 5692 is a CBS tube. The final photo is all the other loose ones.
There are some good tubes in this find and the dozen or so I've checked tested very good with matching or close matching sides.
Right when I had everything organized...now I need to order more boxes. I don't like to keep any of the better tubes loose.

6SN7's are the bread & butter of Williamson amps. You'll have no trouble thinning out that herd after you've tested them. What brand are the short, brown-base ones?

The short brown based ones are CBS CHY-5692's, Sylvania 6SN7WGTA's and Sylvania 6SL7GT's.

Just realized, I have a couple 6SL7GTs, RCAs with the boxes. I also have a few 12SN7GTs, but realize they're not exactly the same, lol. It's probably good I don't get rid of things, just cause I don't understand them yet. :D EDIT: Also a 6SA7 & 6SC7, but those are metal envelopes.

vendo81, ever see any coke-bottle shaped 6SN7 or variants?
Hi Bolly....Yes... I have a used one somewhere that I believe is made by Mullard. I'll have to dig it out. It has a Euro number on it and is ST shaped. I looked the number up and found the Euro number is close, but not exact for a 6SN7. I guess it works in some but not all circuits, but sounds really good. I've never tried it. There may have been others but all my US made ones are of the smaller common type.

Yeh.... I rarely got rid of things and have lately found some of what I kept over the years is now collectable/wanted
