More Damaged Equipment

 I am just livid with the attitude of some of the UPS delivery people. Just received my Klipsch Forte II's and they both damaged. The base of one was crushed and top front corner crushed with the seam open for 3 ". The other had cracked base. Was in the house when they delivered. Instead of knocking they just "dropped" them in the garage and split before I came out. Heard a thump and looked and there they were. I could see peanuts pouring out of gashes in both boxes. Also trail of peanuts down the drive into the street. Opened the boxes and just stared at the carnage. My wife had to call for me, I am sure they would have hung up on me in a second. Insured, but not the issue. Not the greatest package job which UPS packaged themselves. By the look of the boxes nothing could have survived with out some damage. Wife says there only objects, which I know. Just floors me people have so little respect for others property, there jobs and whatever. I will never, ever use UPS or recommend. Oh well, tomorrow is another day and another package.

If you think UPS sucks now, just wait until you deal with their insurance A$$HOLES, they're sorry excuses for human beings!! I know, I dealt with them twice and lost, it's good to see they packed them and will have to bear the blame for a $hit packing job, this time they can't blame the customer!! For what it's worth, I heard the shipper/packers also carry insurance in case poop brown doesn't pay!! As they advertise; What can Brown do for you??? Maybe show some pride and respect for other peoples property?? Is there CEO and leadership so clueless they don't realize how destructive their workers are?? Sorry you had to experience their rath, Dave.

 :wtf:  :finger: :gigglemad :pistols: :whip: :dammit: :thumbsdn:

You know, it's been a while since I've seen that commercial they have where the businessman/customer states something to the effect " I just expect perfection"?

I could hear the guys in OPs banging their heads as soon as that one aired

Collecting from UPS/Insurance

You will need the shipper to make the claim for you, as he/she is the party that is insured, not you. It is best if he/she contacts the UPS store immediately to make the claim. Take photos & document all. I can give you the name & address of UPS' Chairman to write to if needed. They will probably say that you damaged the items upon opening the boxes- they tried this with me! I had to end up threatening to report them to the NYS Insurance Comissioner & NYS Attorney General, before getting a call from them offering me the $$ I demanded.

I have also had damaged packages from UPS. Not only that, I had to pay customs/brokerage fees ($35 for a $50 item) for a package coming into Canada. I think they are the biggest rip-off there is. I use USPS now - so far no fees, no damage.

Hope you get your cash back - Good luck!

Every once in awhile you run across a good guy. A few weeks ago the UPS guy rang my doorbell at 6pm and was holding a package that had to be signed for and which I was eagerly awaitng. I knew he had been there earlier due to the note on the door. He said he was on the way back to the barn and decided to see if I was home. The package was perfect. I called his employer to give him credit for going the extra mile. Kinda helps make up for THE PREVIOUSLY SMASHED SPEAKERS!!!!!!!

I've had far better luck with UPS in my neck of the woods...

It's FedEx Ground that I hold a grudge against... seems they
hire anyone that can lift at least 50lbs... I have yet to have
a good experience with them! :thumbsdn:

fedex vs. ups

i get much better, cheaper, and faster service with fedex.... may have to do with transit. being close to memphis means that packages to me dont make many stops. who knows, get one jerk in the chain and youve got smashed equipment. at least UPS packaged those Fortes, they ought to pay that claim. those are big speakers and require double boxing. i shipped my old fortes a couple times and used greyhound, never a problem!

The seller said he works in the shipping industry. So he left it up to UPS to package. Have all the pics he sent prior to shipping, with no damage at all, so th cant weasel out of this one. I just mail my CS 77 A's to a guy. I taped in a garbage bag, then made a box of 1 1/2 hard styrofoam insulation. Figure that will take drop of several feet easily with out damaging a corner. Then bubble wrap that, then the air filled bags inside custom made cardboard boxes. Was spendy, also my first sale, wanted it to arrive like it was my own. Cannot overpack these days. If no satisfaction will need that number from nitrous. Thanks

On a good note. Truly impressed with the sound of the horns. Totally different sound from my Polk monitor 10's. Lovely mids and highs. Sade has never sounded better!!
