I've had a few of "Gizmo's" equipment over the years, and when it works, it is very good. Unfortunately, some of his amps tended to be biased a bit hot, and some of the build quality was , well, lets just say, they were a small outfit, and some of their equipment had a bit of a DIY feel to it. I ran through three Moscode Minuet in A's before I got one that ran, and stayed running... quietly. I had two Moscode 300s, both sounded great, at first. One only lasted a couple of years, the other, I sold at about 10 years old, and it was still working great (I threw in the other, for spare parts). I was tempted by the OTLs, but they were VERY expensive, and I had enough issues with their smaller stuff, that I stayed clear. I think I still have a NYAL IT, which was a darned good little phono amp.
NYAL was an interesting outfit, they knew good sound, and seemed able to design equipment to achieve it, but I don't think they had a good grasp on quality control, or robust engineering practices.
