Mostly dead jbl 4312's worth anything?

I recently picked up a pair of JBL 4312's for $100 and was pretty thrilled at the deal I got until I hooked them up and discovered that one speaker has a dead woofer and the other has a dead midrange AND woofer. The cabinets are not in great shape either. Are the speakers in this condition worth anything? could I at least get the $100 back?

You might be able to get your money back by carefully parting out things such as grills (if you have them), the crossovers, and remaining drivers.

You could keep your eye out for a good pair of woofers and a midrange. They do slip through cheaply sometimes, especially if not cosmetically perfect. Then, patch the cabs with wood dough, sand, paint with Sherwin Williams primer and then hard black enamel paint. Use a smooth foam rubber roller for a nice finish. You'll have some nice looking and sounding units.

That's a pretty bad sign on a 4312 where the woofers run straight full-range off the input terminals. You could always take them out and make sure the wires are in place. You could swap mid-ranges from cabinet to cabinet to see if the crossover or controls (L-pads) are causing that problem. So the tweets are all that's left working? How odd.
