Motor on Pioneer PL-51 and PL-71 the same?

Are the motors on these turntables the same and interchangeable? I have a PL-51 and a PL-71. The PL-71 has a bad motor. It has a bent shaft and will not turn. Does anyone know if I can remove the motor from the PL-51 and use it in the PL-71?

PIONEER PL-51 motor is a KXM-021-D and the PIONEER PL-71 motor is a KXM-021-G. What does the D and G on the end of the part number stand for?

Do you know what the -D and the -G means?
