Nice Motorola console from an estate sale. Isn't she pretty?
Look at the size of that transformer.

very cool !

does it have the nice 8 inch GOlden Voice / Jensen's for the L & R channels ?

I'm using a pair of them for fullrange duty running off a littl e6V6 PP magnavox . .

any 'full frontal' shots ? :naughty:

I still have my pair of 8 inch moldy voices.....They had a really nice sound at low levels with a little single-ended 6BQ5 Magnavox console amplifier. I was experimenting with danmar with them, but need to buy some mineral spirits.

Do you have them on open baffles?

Eight inch goldies. The MCS stack went right away but nobody was interested in the old girl.
I'm not complaining though. Three and a half gallons of gas was all she cost.

actually, my pair have a few coats of damaar (or whatever you call it :D) on the cones too . . .based on my online research, 'experts' recommend keeping it on the cone only - i.e. not applying it to the surrounds or whizzer, so thats what I did . . . I'm tempted to cut out the dustcaps too for further hot-rodding potential (see http://www.mother-of-tone.com/speaker.htm for my inspiration)

And as for baffles, I made these to appease 'Mrs. Markus' (see my avatar - what Mrs. Markus wants, Mrs. Markus gets ) . . . basically some quick and dirty slide-in baffles to work with our IKEA shelf unit. I agree - these Motorola / Jensen 8 inchers sound real nice. :

Cool....I like the fade marks from the original baffles.

Didn't you notice any sort of difference in the (Dammar?) treatments that you did to the Golden Voice 8's?

His console looks the same as the one I had, it had short legs as well. (I still have the front baffle for the 15" woofer on the back porch, it's the only thing left which confirms that his is like mine was.)

I just have mine in some old Argos enclosures sans the back panels.

the funny part is, these GOlden Voice 8's came from a curbside console that had been through an entire fall and winter here in central MA . . . I have a complete motorola in the basement with unaltered 8's so sooner or later I'll do a little A/B comparison . . . for now, I just know they sound gooooood :music:

hey can anyone help me find a 2nd golden voice 15" woof? i need one. pay top $$.
i just gutted a motorola 3 channel console.
