Motorola SKR155w console?

I was a little surprised to see it myself. it's in the picture I posted of my SKR155W's innards. Upper left hand corner of the pic. Appears to be a 33uF 25v. Here's a better picture of it ;)a2a.jpg

Well, I just looked at the schematics for the SKR155W in my service manual. The capacitor's supposed to be there for the woofer - a 33uF 25v nonpolarized electrolytic type :beatnik:

I have worked on many 3 channel amps and have not seen one before with that capacitor. Are you sure it is connected to the woofer? Post the schematic if you can.

I also own a 3 channel console with 15 inch but no capacitor.

What is the general consensus on Motorola tube amps? Is this worth taking on as a project? Are there replacement parts available for these models?

I've worked on a number of three channel Motorolas: SK28, SK32, SK52, SK76, SK77-2, AND SKR155. I've only seen this on the SKR155. Here's a quick and dirty schematic. Hopefully you can make out the capacitor for the bass channel.

MotorolaNut, Could you upload your schematics to the Digital Documents database? I need them too as I have the SKR160 (same guts as the SKR155). They're showing up too small to read on this thread. They look like Sams Photofact...if so...it might be better to e-mail them as Sams material post-1963 is still copyrighted (I think).
 
I have both the Sams and the service manual for the SKR155. Service manual is better though. Would upload it, but I'm having trouble finding the Digital Documents database.:dunno: If someone could provide a link, it would be greatly appreciated:beerchug:
