Motorola stereophonic

Hello,

I have a Motorola stereophonic console: model #sk73ma

Tubes work but the deck spins slowly, looks like it is rubbing against side, is there a broke part here? Please see photos. Not sure how to keep it from rubbing against side.

Does the idler wheel turn freely when you try turning it by hand? My guess is that rubber on the idler is all dried out and is slipping. When the platter is in place, the idler would be against the platter edge, not against the chassis.
