Mouse infested Bose 1800 mk1 restoration

Ok guys. Here’s the info, tell me what you think. 25 years in a barn. Came from a repair man who retired in the 90s, this must’ve been something never finished and never picked up.


This first post is about everything I know. Grateful for all help. When I first got it, I pulled the top off and found the nest. It was awful to say the least.

BOTH amplifier boards were unplugged. One board looks is complete, another board is missing 2 power transistors. Also, that board has mismatched transistors but all are Bose brand. I’m very interested in what you guys think about this, it’s in the pictures.


A few wires connected to the power supply were unplugged. The two brackets the amp boards attach to were not only detached, but also look to be mismatched.

The black power cable wire is chewed in half from the power switch to the molex where the cable comes in from the wall.

taking this slow because I’m currently working on a Sansui with GrisPato. But I’ve heard a few AK guys really know these amps. Honestly looking on advice on where I should even start after cleanup. @GrisPato @Hyperion @Thierry

One of my first questions I’d like everyone to see is this. The white cable. The white power cable comes out of the molex and is supposed to be plugged into the power supply. The mice have managed to unplug it. When I found it, it was pushed up against pin #5. From the looks of it, it came from pin #4. Is this correct?
