mouser advice please..

trying to buy a long list of transistors for my marantz 2325. SM parts list has numbers such as 2SC1345, 2SA733 and such, but when plugging those into mouser search, they say they do not have such a number. I KNOW they do, but they are apparently looking for their mouser part number. Any advice on how/where to get their part numbers?

I should always read stickies FIRST. I later found the Marantz forum has exactly what I needed, as well as the list avionic presents above.
 
Often wondered why there isn't a sticky listing common substitutes for obsolete items?

That said, it's not uncommon for the substitutes to disappear as well. I remember having a devil of a time finding replacements for a 2SA606/2SC959 complementary pair for a Sansui QR4500 until I stumbled on a matched pair of
NTE128/NTE129's that did the job.

PS ... Mouser ain't what it used to be for "classic" parts. Just took a peek, and the NTE pair is no longer available there, but I found them at several other sites, including NTE's direct sales site.
 
If it has a problem, starting a thread in the Marantz section might be a good idea. It's not a good idea to just start swapping parts out in order to fix a problem.
Also, a point that I harped upon forever, is that the number one cause of problems in vintage gear is connection issues. Dirty switches and pots, cracked solder joints, cruddy relay contacts, etc., etc. cause more problems than aged capacitors and faulty transistors combined.
 
Can anyone tell me the name of these parts and how do I order them thru Mouser?

First photo is a plate resistor ( emitter resistor ) .47Ω . If it has 3 pins it is a dual resistor. 2 pins is a single resistor.
second photo is a Toshiba TO-220 2SC789,O transistor

Highly unlikely Mouser has the exact replacements of either one.
 
Never mind. It took Mouser Tech Support about 20 minutes to order the correct parts, so I don't think anyone on here could of figured this out. Thank you

That's something covered all over this site, which also has threads dedicated to lists cross referencing replacements and how to know which component to use for any specific application. You not knowing exactly what these parts were, I wouldn't expect you to know all of that. But it was kind of dismissive and may be even a little offensive for you to assume that no one would be able to help you. Also, mouser.com has no idea what circuit those components are being used in and what specific characteristics are important in a replacement. They just want to sell you a part and that's it. People on this site like myself are just trying to help and we get nothing in return but maybe the knowing that we helped someone fix a problem.

Really? Don’t think that those that regularly rebuild this gear can’t figure out what to order from mouser.digikey? There are endless threads of discussion answering questions exactly like yours. Searching for that transistor brings back a number of threads with substitutes.

The resistor, well if it measures I wouldn’t replace it. And finding a replacement wouldn’t be difficult.

Maybe start a thread about your unit and ask as you proceed and get answers so you can order. Or use the services of the vendor to pick your parts. But I wouldn’t say folks here can’t figure it out.

If this is and output transistor. Did Mouser recommend replacing its complementary transistor as well?

What Mouser part numbers did you order? If you don't mind a 2nd opinion. :biggrin:
