you can get those from several vendors but they all appear to be the same thing. I bought them from whoever had them listed for the least amount of money on that specific day. Usually not the ideal criteria for shopping hifi components but I was curious what the absolute cheapest thing I could find would do.

Making the Magnavox AMP-197 sing

I've made mention in a few other unrelated threads that I've been fooling with a single ended Magnavox amp, and promised I'd do a writeup once I was done. Well I am and this is that. First to set the stage, this amp came from here...

but 4.2 watts, flat within 0.5db from 30hz - 20khz and power bandwidth (half power) down to 23 hz. Better iron might get you flat down to 20hz but there isn't all that much happening between 20 and 30 and its going to need a fair bit more physical size to get there.

Can always throw one on and see how it compares to the original. Swap the second on and either leave it, or just make use of the amp while you have the failed original re-wound depending on those results.

beautiful and remarkable sights in lahore. its on my list to visit.

your have a lot of TF choices closer to you over there than in the US. theres a place in greece, thermionic labs, which might satisfy an expensive taste. if it is a blown output TF, i agree that the best and quickest option may be to see how well a single budget chinese OPT matches up.

The transformer should be 5k primary. If your technician is competent, he can test the other healthy transformer and confirm the windings ratio.

Thanks You very much for your insights Anwesh . Finding a competent tube technician is a challenge here as well but i am giving my best for this amp lets hope for the best. We can also talk over whatsapp 923018444610 is my number.
 
 
finally i got the transformer rewinded and amp is now working but i am not satisfided with the repair hoowever tone is very good i loved it and i am working for transformers now so i can buy them and and get this beauty back to life with its full potential
