Multi record spindle

Hi all. I have a MCS 6700 equipped with the long multi play spindle with the three fingers that protrude out. I don't see myself using this feature at all. Where can I find a regular single play spindle that will fit this tt? Is it safe to manually fold the fingers in to insert a record if I wanted to?

Any one that looks like this which is from a 1000 series Dual. Should be lots around as other makers used something similar. Just need one rounded at the ends,

Back in the day, we had a Miracord 10H with only the stacking spindle. When I wanted to play a single LP, I'd take the spindle out, but the record down on the platter, reinsert the spindle and play manually.
Bit of a PITA, but it should work.
 
Whatever you do, don't throw away the stacker spindle when you replace it. They are getting expensive and hard to find for a lot of turntables.

This is what the single play spindle should look like. MCS was made by Technics. Another option is the black plastic one in the picture. You can find them on eBay for around $15. The original Metal Technics/MCS go for $40-$60

Sweet, those are great are photos for reference. A " cup " style that goes over the changer as I've read in other random posts. Thanks to everybody !:beerchug:
 
If this is the same single play spindle as used on a SL1650 Pat Leaver sells a 3d printed replacement, alternately there is a member who I sent CAD files who had a metal replacement machined. Don't remember who it was off the top of my head but if you can confirm it's the same I'll look it up

yup, its the same one
 
After a little research I think you have a SL-1950 not 1650

I will look up info in the morning anyway. Cannot guarantee that they're the same but I can't imagine why Technics would change
 
OK, it looks like there is now another seller selling the 3D printed ones as well... the one I knew of was "patsaudioparts", and it looks like there is another one available from seller "weregonnagroove"

Looks like the replacements are all listed for 1350, 1650, and 1950 so apparently if they are not identical they are at least interchangeable

The AKer that had the metal one made was Matt aka @dbxdx5 although I don't know if that was a one off or he could convince his machinist to make another one.

Thx for your hard work! Yes, it looks like there are two options from ebay. I emailed Pat to make sure his spindle is compatible with the MCS and waiting for a response. It doesn't look like neither is made from metal but something else. Thx again.
