I prefer the pre-German invasion period, AKA pre-war blues.
Irony is that British invasion bands popularized American blues artists.
No way I could pick one, honestly. So much great stuff from every decade.

As far as rock music, I prefer punk and post-punk. The British Invasion has little to do with my preferences in other genres.
