I can't answer your question but I'm curious -- does this replace the V-LPS II Phono Stage do you think?

Given the price point I'd imagine so. I get the impression Cambridge Audio was outselling them, so they changed the form factor to be identical to CA. I'd wager the actual design is pretty similar to the V-LPS.
