Been trying to find out about their I think MP 301 headphone amp.

Their website says they are sold out of this model.

I tried calling them but,no answer and e-mailed too but, no response back.

Anywhere else this amp can be purchased?

One on the bay but it's used and he wants the same price as new.

Very nice little amp for a bookshelf system.

Since he is a small outfit he cannot place a ton of orders to have the amplifiers made at once. Also, from what I remember it takes a few months for the amplifiers to actually be made, and then they have to be shipped. So, it might be a while before they are available again.

Agreed though, it's a fantastic little amp.

The Danyun Model 6 my be a better amp (on eBay). Uses same 6SL7 input with EL34 plus uses a tube regulator.

I got one a couple months ago, not to my personal taste but, lots of people love it, if you're in the area you're welcome to stop by and listen to it.

I read the upgrade is using NOS Tung Sol round plate 6SL7s & replace the Solen coupling caps with caps such as Russian K40Y-9.

I have contacted Musical Paradise successfully before via their Facebook page. Answers to my questions there have been quick (within 24hrs) and concise.

my complaint is really the bass, with 6L6 GC's, that it came with, it was good but, the mids were stinky, seemed muddy?, with el 34 jj's the mids were great but the bass wasn't there :P, I'm guessing to get both I would have to get 6550's or kt 88's?, for the 6sj7's I have NOS RCA's and NOS JAN GE's which do have better detail IMO than the stock Shuguang 6J8P's but, I think my trouble is with the outputs.

Even with the 6L6 GC's I feel like it doesn't go as low as my el 84 amp or perhaps the top end just over powers it? If I had the option I would turn down the treble :P
would changing the coupling caps help with my bass trouble?

I was just frustrated that after paying $340 for it and an additional $60 for different tubes I'm still not happy with it :P

(this is listening to both amps through my cornwalls)

I have the MP-301mk2. For the price, it's not a bad little tube amplifier. Very sweet sounding, the chassis is quite microphonic but, overall it's a decent "entry" tube amplifier. Matched with efficient speakers make a nice computer or personal office set up.

It is what it is and at it's price point, it ain't too shabby. Granted I got mine used with upgraded 6550 power output tubes so that's a plus.

Idk I guess I just was expecting it to out perform my home built amp that I think was about $275 to build, and it's a simply design nothing fancy and the tubes for it are cheap. Also I think it's funny that at idle the Motorola clone is quieter :P I wish I had some kind of meter to take readings and see what's going on.

I always thought, that if it cost more, had a fancier design, and was professionally made it must sound better, I fully expected that I was going to get something with a few more watts of power and that would sound much better than my little homemade setup and that I would end up selling mine and keeping this in it's place.

i read some pretty decent reviews on it.

i was just looking for a cheap tube amp for hanging out in my garage.

I really like the Jolida FX 10 but, don't want to spend $500 on a small tube amp.

Just didn't want to break the bank.

I do have and old Denon DRA1025RA that I might use instead.

It's a little bit over-kill for a garage receiver but I guess it will do for now.

I have the original version. Very nice amp for the $$ IMO. It's the only tube speaker amp I've owned, but I have owned several tube headphone amps and for the price I haven't found anything that can beat it other than DIY.

Oh, and I've always had good luck emailing so you might want to try that.

E-mailed days ago with no response. Called again today and no answer.

I do like it but obviously can't get ahold of one.

What is it that you don't like about it?

Thanks for your offer! I'm in central Ill.

Any chance you might sell it in the future?

My old Denon is just not appealing anymore even for a garage reciever.

After buying my Rogue for my main system I'm totally sold on tubes.

seems I can get bass or mids just not both haven't purchase more output tubes since I don't want to put more money into it, Probably will end up on E bay or audiokarma's sell section, just frustrated that I'm going to take a loss.

(if anyone could explain the sell section that would be great, since I don't get it :P)
