Musical Perfection.

Greetings to one'n'all

I am lucky enough to work from home in a small study next to my system and able to listen to my sounds all day. Whilst doing menial tasks such as assigning numbers to rooms in a hospital, I was listening to Gilmour's On an Island.

Am I just being smug, or is the marriage of Gilmour's guitar to the vocals of Messrs Crosby & Nash on 'On an Island' & 'Blue', the nearest thing to musical perfection there is?

Brings tears to my eyes.

For me personally, musical perfection—aside from the Beatles, of course—resides in the songs of Badfinger. Almost every song is a polished gem of such melodic beauty that it boggles my mind. Few agree with me, but that’s how I feel.

BTW, On an Island is a fabulous album.

No such thing as musical perfection, but you've given a good example of a perfect combination. A musical match made in heaven. :thmbsp:

Ps; I'm looking for a job at a medical software company (consulting/training), any tips? ;)

I believe your just being smug, but I will have another listen with your comments in mind.

I would have never guessed that!

Music perfrction to me is not playing Hendrix for several months, then putting some on. Axis Bold as Love, will do.

I'd be inclined to agree with your entire post.

I've been getting into Opera in part, because when finding factory reel to reels in the wild this genre seems to be the easiest and least expensive tapes to find. I've had a few "musical perfection" moments recently cranking these tapes on my new to me TEAC X-300. This scene in particular from Weber's "Der Freischütz";

"Agathe is filled with sad forebodings. She sings of her meeting with a hermit in the forest, who told her that in some danger which menaced her, she would be protected by her bridal wreath. At the moment when Max shoots the magic bullet, the picture of Agathe’s ancestor hanging against the wall falls to the floor, slightly wounding her. Agathe's cousin and companion Ännchen replaces it. (Duet: "Schelm, halt fest!")."
