MVP-861 & Oppo BDP-95

Hello my friends hello...

It has been a long time. Well, here is my question:

I have a McIntosh MVP-861 and an Oppo BDP-95 (processor is McIntosh MX-135 non-HDMI). Obviously, I am going to run Bluray on the Oppo (via analog RCAs to take advantage of the new surround formats). What should I do for the other formats? Run them through the Oppo or the MVP-861? It would be nice to have one unit to do them all (which the Oppo will do) but I want to maximize sound quality and am not against having 2 disc players in my rack. I made a little "X your opinion" below for easy responding.

Bluray through the BDP-95 and
all other formats through [ ] MVP-861 or [ ] BDP-95

- OR -

DVD: [ ] MVP-861 or [ ] BDP-95
CD: [ ] MVP-861 or [ ] BDP-95
SACD: [ ] MVP-861 or [ ] BDP-95
multi-channel SACD: [ ] MVP-861 or [ ] BDP-95
DVD-A: [ ] MVP-861 or [ ] BDP-95

The Oppo is supposed to sound superb so I would use that for everything. Of course, it would hurt to try them both and judge for yourself.

I have my 861 hooked up balanced analog for CD/SACD and digital for DVD. I tried CD's on digital and there was just enough increase in sibilance that i stayed with analog. Great movies sound great however, bad sound tracks, horrible. Sometimes I prefer the sound of analog on the old Laser discs as compared to the new surriund sound mixes in reissues. If I had my choice, I would step up to a MCD500, with an Oppo. It looks like Frank Gow's prediction is coming true and Blu-ray is becoming cheap, but cheap enough for an 881 and a MCD500?
