MVP 871 over MCD 201 instead of MDA 1000

I purchased an MCD 201 in March that I like, have had none of the problems mentioned so often in this thread, but I listen mostly to the MS-300. I have an itch for the MDA 1000, but am struggling with the expense of that particular unit. Instead of the MDA, I am thinking of adding the MVP-871, possibly by trade, to use as CD player and transport because of the better DAC's than the 201. Knowing that the best reproduction would be through the MDA 1000, would the 871 be a big improvement over the 201? And I add a DVD player to boot!

I have said it on another post, I think the MVP871 is by far the best bargain Mac offers today.

It does everything supremely well. Of all my sources it gets used the most. That is a big statement!
