MX-113 Front Panel Bezel

Greetings!

I have not been successful in locating a new or used front panel bezel for my newly restored MX-113. Yes, I have tried all the usual folks (Audio Classics, McIntosh, Terry Dewickt and Tom Manley)

I was hoping an AK member could take a hi rez photo (5 MB or so) of the bezel with the inside and outside dimensions. Post it in the thread or PM me for my email. I would like to make a glossy photo "bezel" and use some gummy glue to afix it to the front panel until I locate an actual bezel somewhere.

Any other ideas would be appreciated. Thanks!

Once you have the dimensions (which McIntosh might supply) you could have a plastics fabrication shop make one for you out of black Lucite or other plastic. Won't be cheap for a one-off, small machined piece. The places that make TT dustcovers would be a good place to start looking for a fabricator. Believe there is one that advertises at the bottom of each AK page. Good luck.

I might be able to help. I was hoping someone who actually had an MX113 would take a dedicated close-up photo for you.

I'll go through my photos and see what I can come up with for you.

This is the best i could come up with. I don't have an MX113, so I can't supply a photo.

However, this is from the MX113 owner's manual.

You might take this to a sign maker who does vinyl and have them make it in black and gold. Then attach that to a piece of brass cut to the size of the bezel and you are good to go (until you can get one from McIntosh).

If you need a higher resolution image, contact me. The site "dumbed down" this image resolution.

I have an MX113 and I can try to get you the pic you need. If I'm correct, you just want the bezel surrounding the push buttons? Please PM me with your email.

I have an old bezel laying around somewhere (MC2125). If you would like me to give you any dimensions with a caliper, let me know. Same for a C29 bezel.
 
Sure! I'd be interested in the dimesions. Tom gave me the demensions for the 113 he has that measure 4" X 1". Would there be a difference between units?

I was thinking more accurate dimensions on thickness, width of the base and the silver line, etc. Isn't the cross-section a truncated isosceles triangle? The ones on MC2125 and MX117 are. While I did not lay them on top of one another, going from memory the bezel for the MX117 and MC2125 are the same.

OK............
C29 bezel:
0.164 thick (probably +/- 0.005 due to some glue still on the back).
0.055 is the width of the silver on the front edge.
0.120 thick inside the raised edge.
MC2125:
0.345 thick (with the same priviso as the C29).
0.055 width on the silver, so they match.

MX 113 Bezel -need one...

Hi,

How did the bezel search or replacement go? I'm in the same position, mine was lost in a move.

Any clue is helpful,
