MX110 vs. C29

Stephen J

Suum Cuique
Uh oh ! could it be the C29 sounds better with my Allen 75 tube amps than the MX110 ? . :scratch2: First impressions say yes.
I wanted to keep one system all tubes, for several months I had the use of JBStemps MX110 and I enjoyed the way it sounded with the Allens.
Well,Jim is starting to get his listening space back in order and asked if I would bring the MX back...:sigh:.....what was I going to say ? No ? When I dropped it off he offered to let me use his C29 while I am waiting for Mike Samra to finish my Fisher 400C.
I was kind of bummed not to have a tube pre-amp for the Allens until Friday when I hooked up the C29.
Maybe it's due to the fact that all I have used for a source so far is my Marantz SA14,but thus far I like the detail I'm hearing with the C29 better than the 110.
BTW....I really like the way the C29 looks when it is lit up ! . :thmbsp:

I recently bought a mint C29 from Tom Manley to use with a MC2105 and really love the looks and sound of the C29. I still use my Fisher 500C daily though.

I had a C29 and a an MX110(z) for a long time - like five years. I always preferred the sound of the C29. You're not hearing things.
