MX150... How do I set it up

Bought a second hand MX150 from a dealer and need help

1. First the remote is gooey and does not work or trigger anything on the preamp.
any suggested replacements?

2. I connected my raspberry pi 3b+ with a Pidesign502DAC with an AES into the back and then went into the EDIT SOURCE section of the processor and added a "NEW INPUT" with no video out and CD5 AES EBU as an input.
But no sound from my powered speakers (Genelec 8260A)

3. I connected a new monitor to the HDMI out of the MX but can not see any sub menu's from DEVICE MANAGEMENT. Only the top 2 menu's submenu's can be seen.
Even Speaker configuration cannot be changed. All the speakers are set at M but need to change to XL but trying to change it through the faceplate SELECT button does not allow me to change the menu.

Any help????

You can clean remote with cotton swab and isopropyl alcohol. Remove clean and replace batteries in remote. You must press Mc button to activate the MX150 functions.

Hook a display up with HDMI cable to output.

You can program functions with buttons on MX150 panel using guide menus. You may wish to perform factory reset first to recover defaults. These units are infinitely programmable to use custom inputs and outputs. It would easier to start from defaults.

you can also set up room perfect without a remote but a TV connection is advisable or you will be lost. You can also use an ipad or PC on your same lan to set it up.

These are great preamps and HT processors. The new ones lack all of the inputs and outputs and flexibility. Make sure you have latest firmware from McIntosh. I have s post where I left a link to dropbox firmware that has load instructions and software to do custom equalization.

Thank @Velocityboat

I have ordered one from here.

I managed to try another monitor with a better display resolution and was able to see the menu's and I managed to do a few things.
- I did enable DHCP and now have access to the web interface of the amp.
- I also did the speaker config of 2 speakers to XXL. For some reason, Custom and bass cut off @ 25hz and 4th order roll off was not able to be saved. The error said there are no speakers configured as XXL or XL or no sub is added.
I proceeded to configure the speakers to XXL and saved.
- I also tried to configure my sources but got an error message saying the operation could not be saved.
- I relocated my amp to my desired location and connected the ethernet network and now I access the web interface but apart from the network configuration and the home screen and main Installer menu, I cannot access any of the menu's.

The error "Status: 400 Could not open page..."
I have tried all possible browsers. i.e. Internet Explorer, FireFox, Opera, Brave, Google and Edge.
Any help.

Some of the latest updates allowing to stream certain servers will disable the tone controls. As I only stream with Apple TV anymore. I use the original setup with my MX 151 which part for part is identical to your 150. Like the man said you can have as many inputs a connectors. There for a while I was using 14. But the VCR's, Laser Discs. DVD recorders are all gone so it's a pretty simple set up now. I do wish it had a MC cartridge input. But using a High Output Dynavector feeding the MM input the sound is superb. All my speakers are set up custom. L&R with 25 HZ filters center and rear with 30 HZ filters and the sides with 45 HZ filters. Whats neat for me is you can set distances to the nearest inch which really improves imaging in any of the modes, but especially Stereo. I have never had the solid image before in the stereo mode whether my speakers were used with a MX 119 or 120 or with the stereo system with any number of Mac tube and SS preamps. When used in the 3.0 mode there is very little difference from the 2.0 mode. I don't use subs but feed the LFE channel to all my XXL loud speakers in front. Sending the LFE to the rears in addition just doesn't work for me.

Oh Boy.
Managed to set it up.

I am not sure but I may have to confirm.

A display needs to be connected to the HDMI out to program it. I was not able to get through to all the menus and the error was the "Status 400..."
Connected a monitor and connected a Raspberry Pi 3B+ with a PiDesign 502DAC Pro and assigned the new input and it saved.

I have Spotify and hence only the 320CBR MP3 and hopefully but the year end, Spotify HD should make it better.

Next step is a CD Player and my Dual Turntable.
