MXR Model 127 Equalizer

I had one these when I was a kid and loved it. Its 15 bands per side 1/2 octave range. Long story short, I recently bought a new one and put it in line with my system. It sounded wonderful for about 10 minutes then the right side dropped out and while you can still hear it a bit of audio, its mostly just rumbling. Open it up...its pristine, no noticeable bulging in caps or noticeable issues. One thing I dont recall this the band sliders being stiff er with a kind of heavy grease in them. Would anyone recommend using regular cleaner and lubrication with this heavier type of grease in the band sliders?

A new one??? I was not aware they still made them since Dunlop bought the company. I had the original bluefaced one in my band PA for a long time. MXR made some great equipment
