Only in one's dreams. Maybe 325 hp at the rear wheels. I give up some top end power for throttle response (modified 600 CFM Holley). Yes, will run well into the 12s.

Hi everybody! It's almost a gosh darn year later.
I got the bolt circle worng and had to make new baffles. The 604e speaks through a 13⅝" diameter opening and mounts with 8 bolts in 14 9/16" diameter circle.
I had one DIY Markwart designed N1500 crossover. I built a straight up N1500 crossover out of parts of an original.

Using a Fisher X202b and a Dual 1228 turntable.
Started with an Allen Toussaint record because 'Yes We Can' and The Meters.
Then Allman Brothers for equally ritualistic reasons.
And finally picking out some well recorded jazz. Paul Desmond and Gerry Mulligan on RCA Living Stereo. OK waitaminute. The definition and placement of each instrument is one thing, but the coherence of the sound of each one individually is really remarkable.
Bass extension may not be all that deep but it's quick and lively.

One of my of my more challenging 'get down' sides is this Deodato record produced by Creed Taylor. This sounded great with a Mac MC2205 and a couple dozen 1" dome tweeters. The 604e’s are keeping up. There's maybe one flat spot in the upper midrange, but there's plenty of range on either side.
When I was younger I rejected all of Chet Atkins. When I hit 50 I understood how surreal and subversive his virtuosity was. Well, these 604e’s in these Bilfort cabinets are presenting Chet's concise lectures in phenomenolgy in an exceptionally charming way.
Tomorrow night I'll tap the SBR (strategic bourbon reserve) and report back.

As I understand it, yes. The two triangular ports add up in area to the port in the 620. I think I did math.

They look like sensible shoes. I'm not sure i could have gone any cheaper.

I'm still sitting on a pair of 604e that I salvaged from a client and old friend here in Orange county, Ca. I hope I'll be able to build a pair of Billfort's design to house them. Pushing 70 here so, we'll see.

The 8b developed a hum that finally became impossible to ignore. It turned out to be one bad tube.
I sat with my girl this evening and listened to a bunch of jazz and finally a Living Stereo recording of Gershwin.
I'm leaning toward the Markwart crossover.
The original N1500 crossover sounds very good but I think the Markwart is a little easier on the ears.

Lots of hard surfaces in that room... before you do any hard adjustments to the crossover or anything I might at least put up some temporary sound absorption.

I wouldn't agree with this unless you were ultimately going to make changes to the room. If the room is to stay as is, you need to work with the crossovers to make the best of it.
You are not living or designing in an anechoic chamber, so you need to work with what's there, and done properly, it will make a difference.

Both Todd and Loudnoises are right. The room really ought to be treated fully before making adjustments. However this room is getting a better rug and that's about it.
The smaller simpler XO is a straight N1500 in a custom case. The other has something like the 30923 midrange attenuation circuit grafted onto it in a design by Jeff Markwart for the 604E.
In my particular case the Markwart design sounds better. In either case there's adjustment available but with the Markwart design there's more adjustment options available.
