My Altec 604e build

After 2 years, I’ve finally completed my speaker project. I scored a pair of Altec 604e’s, and crossovers from a friend. I built Stonehenge clones. They sound good to me, but I would like to tweak them. I found out that Mastering Labs would be the go-to when it comes to crossovers for the 604e’s. The Iconic Manufacturing Co. DN604ES1 is currently running in my box(s). I searched around to find some info on them, but I couldn’t find duck. If anyone knows about these crossovers please share your thoughts.

So much info on the Altec 604's, Mainly on the Lancing Legacy forum.
I have 4 different versions of them. My Re-cones 604G's with 16 Ohm Radian diaphragms
and Jeff Marquart-designed X-overs in Orig big Red cabs. they are my Reference speakers.
I have heard a pair with Mastering labs, but not in my system. I do know they do loose a bit of the efficiency,
very important when using my Flea powered 45/2a3- 300b amps.
I do have a Mint pair of 604E's, but the fact that they are 16 ohms, the Marquart's didn't match up as good.
and with the orig e X-overs were a bit disappointing.
A good friend spoke to Jeff about a 16 ohm version, and while one is published,
he was Less than enthusiastic about them.
Many people like the Werner Juggish, "Germany"
X-overs featuring Motor Run Oil caps and air coils. I have not heard them.
I never heard of the Iconic Mfg co.

I think the 604E sounds fine with the stock N 1500 crossover and the Altec 30923 compensation circuit added. I use crossovers I made that are the N 1500 circuit with improved parts.

That’s exactly my point Tom.
A modified stock design using much better parts and the addition of the compensating circuit.
That is basically what Jeff M. told my friend to use .
Nice Original cabinets ! Although no doubt a bit lacking in deeper Bass due to their smaller size.
