My attempt to repair Phase tech pc8.5s

I ordered a refoam kit today from msound. They had a set of foams that are as close as I've been able to find.
They aren't a perfect fit by any means though. We'll see how they go together maybe this weekend.

I'm going to have to learn how to center the voice coil using a test tone or something too.

Got the new foams a while ago and refoamed one of the speakers already. I think it went pretty well. The foam is barely big enough on the OD to glue down to the basket. I made a test tone cd and used it as the glue started to hold on the outer flange. Will probably touch up the glue and make sure it's all sealed to the basket then try playing it in the cabinet. If I like what I see and hear, I will do the other woofer.

The refoamed woofer sounds great. I was going to refoam the other one, but after closer inspection, it looks like the whole woofer was replaced in 1997 when the tweeter was replaced in the same cabinet. The foam is in very good shape and is strong, it just needs glued back down in places on the piston flange. I pulled on it to see if it would peel the rest of the way off but it was strong. I decided to glue it back down and use it as-is for now. That glue should be dry now, so I'll reinstall it in the cabinet when I get time. Now the rest of the work is cosmetic :thmbsp:.
