Here's a pic of my current setup...I really just started getting into the "audiophile" scene in the past few months, but I think I have progressed nicely.

Turntable is a Pro-Ject 1.2 with an Ortofon 2M Red and Cambridge Audio TT50 acrylic platter. My preamp is a Hafler DH-110 and the amp is a Hafler DH-220. HT receiver is an Onkyo TX-SR605 and my speakers are AR 318PS with a Polk Audio center channel for the TV sound.

What do you guys think?

Thanks! I just got the preamp/amp combo setup yesterday and WOW what a difference. I was previously running my turntable through the receiver and it never seemed to give a very "full" sound compared to other systems that I had heard (obviously there were other variables as well).

I thought maybe my high ceilings were part of the issue (15ft tall, it's a converted warehouse loft), but I was completely blown away by the quality increase with the dedicated preamp/amp setup!
 
looks good! I was always a fan of black glass shelves myself but dang do they get dusty quick. Seems like 5 minutes after i wipe mine off they're covered again.

Nice choice of gear and it looks fantastic. Very neat and uncluttered. A messy listening area totally kills the entire mood for me.
 
Very nice! One question though, it seems like you have a pretty hard room and I'd imagine lots of reflections. Have you looked at adding some damping materials like an area rug or is it not really an issue?
 
Great looking setup.

Invest in a sub to fill in the bottom octave and you'll be even more blown away.

...oh, and start getting some more vinyl :p:
 
What size is your Panny S2 TV? Trying to get an idea of the speakers and everything relative to the TV. Also because I have a 42" S2.

That was something I was going to look to audiokarma for some help with. I have relatively bare walls (only one larger canvas print) to the right and behind the speakers. The floors are hardwood and the left wall is all brick. As mentioned, ceilings are very high (15ftish)...should I look into some sort of rug to help absorb the sound and at least attempt to reduce reflections?

I don't have a trained ear by any means, do you think that I would notice a difference with a carpet? I was also considering some sort of sound absorption for the walls (eggcrate-type stuff)?

Anyone have any good ideas?

I considered a sub, but my speakers provide a good amount of bass response so-far. I already got a complaint from my neighbor about the low-end levels. I think I would also need another amp to run the sub or run it through my HT receiver (I don't think the Hafler will do it) which would complicate things and add a bit more expense.

I'm working on it! I used to have it as a component shelf hence the lack of top divider and now I'm a bit sad it's no longer there...maybe I can fix it with a couple of the ikea dowels

That is the 46". I want to think that the speakers are 3' tall, but I can get actual dimensions for you soon if you still need them.
 
Thanks, wow the 46" looks small next to those speakers. I thought it was the 42". I have a 42" S2, great TV but perhaps I should have went bigger.
