An RCM is something I've wanted for a long time but never actually got around to buying or building one. Thanks to a cocaine addicted neurosurgeon botching my back surgery a few years back I have plenty of free time on my hands for projects like this now. What got me motivated was an ad I saw on Etsy by seller ApplesAndString for their "VinylBug" RCM. I purchased one and it worked well enough but I wanted one with a platter and I wanted that platter to be motorized. I picked up a high torque low RPM (7rpm) 12V motor on Amazon, a thrust bearing for the platter to spin on, a 12V @ 2A power supply, a small shop vac. and a few other items for the build. I used the vacuum arm, pivot parts and clamp from the VB and built the following from MDF I had lying around. When it was all said and done this is what I ended up with and I couldn't be happier with my results.
