My Dynaco find

Always looking for new gear to try

Well I had a fun day meeting a gentleman that was very nice. We chatted about audio for awhile and I ended up buying more than I anticipated. I initially came out to buy a set of Dynaco A50s and a set of A10s. I’ve had both before and really liked them. I sold off the 50s years ago and wanted to get some again. I still have a set of A10s and figured I’d like more.

Well after talking and crawling into an attic, I ended up with 18 speakers. All are Dynaco and one pair is Seas labeled. I also ended up with some KLH 100s (80s style table top radio), some Carver amps, and some other odds and ends. I also got a stack of manuals, advertisements, and manuals for Dynaco speakers/gear.

I think it will be a fun time to grind these back to glory. I think I have every model of the line so it’s pretty cool!

Off the top of my head I believe there is the following

Dynaco A10
Dynaco A25
Dynaco A25XL
Dynaco A35
Dynaco A40XL
Dynaco A45
Dynaco A50

Time Window 3 Single

Nice score! I don't think I could imagine seeing all those Dynaco in one place at the same time!

My first ever score was a Dynaco PAS3 with all Dynaco Tubes for $10 at a busy Salvation Army on a Saturday at around 2 in the afternoon. The PAS3 was sitting on the floor with some other electronics. I picked it up and was immediately interested due to the weight! When I looked more into it, it went into the cart. That was about 10 years ago.

Great score! Must not be any earthquakes in Denver. I'd be scared to stack speakers like that in my neighborhood!

I can never understand how speakers like that lone Time Window end up as singles. Does the owner of a pair decide they need to sell them but can't bear to part with both so they keep one?

"I'm keeping the other one as a scratching post for my cat and plant stand for my wife."

Congrats on a great find
I used to take my wife with me on gear hunt and it became - for a while - our weekend thing
She still likes to sit down and listen with me to some tunes, occasionally buys new or used vinyl and loves the glow of tubes but I digress…

That’s a mighty stack of A10s! I still have a pair in storage just because I like them and hope I’ll find a use for them one day.
