My first attempt at night photos

Got around to playing with the manual settings on my new camera (Kodak Z740)

1st attempt, was not that good, as can be seen below:

After a few attempts and messing around, oh and reading the manual, I took this with an 8sec exposure:

Then I got creative:

Going to wait until I get sometime off work, then going to have a play outside, and see if I can do one of those tail & head light shots :scratch2:

It's a Easy Share CX6330, only 3.1MP, kind of a POS by todays standards but with AK's photo size limits it works good!! Some pics from our family vacation in Vegas, NO, we didn't take the Family Truckster for a Lampoon Vegas Vacation, it's the star of "That 70's Show", I did my pic to promote a That 70's show we're having at the theatre in January. :yes:

That's a great start! Low light photography is a great deal of fun and requires some skills beyond the "automatic" settings of the camera. Experiment with slow shutter speeds to get that lovely "smeer" in lights. I often use a 'bulb' setting and slowly pan the camera to create a sort of modern art effect.

One thing to remember, though, with a digital camera there is no film so you are not limited to the standard (and usually, default) ASA (ISO) setting of 100. Change that setting to 800 or 1600 or, if possible, 3200 and see what you can do with those extra 3 or 4 f stops!! Makes low light photography both possible and fun. :thmbsp:
