I recently obtained a Kenwood KR-9600. My very first receiver by Kenwood, but not my first Kenwood. (As that would be my KA-9150)
I had it shipped to where I work (Family owned business), and had the KR-9600 on my desk powering my satellite Cerwin-Vega SAT-6 set. I was pretty amazed at how well they sounded off this Kenwood with the tone controls on defeat.
So first impressions have been pretty good. :thmbsp:
With simple wires attacked to my board on the wall with thumbtacks, hooked to the 300 ohm FM antenna connection, it picks up stations better than the mid/late 90's Sony I have under the desk with a powered antenna.
Though this building isn't good on receptions to begin with, FM, NOAA Weather Alert Radio signals... sometimes Cell phone signals too.
Anyway, here's a picture I took:
Another thing I like about this receiver as well, is the clicky sounds of the volume control and buttons.
