I just picked up a Kenwood KA-5002 integrated amp from a local electronics repair shop. Fully worked through, all lights and indicators work, and it has a 30 day warranty. I used to have an Onkyo Pro-Logic receiver, but that thing is garbage and robot-sounding compared to the Kenny I just got. Here is my current 2.1 channel setup: Kenwood KA-5002, Technics SL-D3 Turntable with Audio Technica cartridge, JVC WD-TD 354BK Dual Cassette deck, Pioneer PD-102(?) Single Disc CD Player, Philips 1080i DVD player, Polk Audio Monitor 5As with Monster Audio spade lug connectors on the speaker side, MTX 100 Watt Powered Subwoofer with 12" Driver connected via the Pre-outs on the amp. I think the Kenny is fantastic! I've never heard my cassettes or LPs sound better! I'm thinking about moving my Polk Monitor 10s down to replace the 5s so I can really rock the house LOL. I'll post pics when I get the chance. :banana:

The KA-5002 is a step up from the KA-4002 I have.

The 4002 is a sweet amp, so I see why you are happy with the 5002.

Yeah, I found a schematic diagram for the 5002 with specs and man, it's hard to believe it's only 30 wpc into 8ohms. With the volume knob on 2 it's as loud as my onkyo was on 6! Yeah, I also love the fact that it has pre-outs so that I can use it as a preamp if I wanted to.

I just picked up one of these along with a KT 5000 tuner last week. Have the tuner working good but still need to replace some lights. The 5002 sounds good but have some minor issues that I'm still trying to hash out. I'm very impressed with it so far. Good luck with yours!

If I can get the issues worked out, this is slated to become my BR system. Already WAF has been confirmed. Sweeeeet!

Thanks, man. I feel lucky having got it from a repair shop, so I know it's good. The guy said he and another friend owned it back and forth for about 10 years. He's put the work into making sure it will work great for the long run. Good luck with yours, too! I can't wait to see how the Monitor 10s will sound on this amp!

I *looooove* Polk Audio, the Kenny looks great, and that Peter Gabriel CD that I see peeking out is excellent. Good stuff!
 
Great deal on your amp! Last weekend I celebrated the 40th anniversary of the Abbey Road album cover photo shoot with a nicely loud playing of the album. My 18-year old son was in the room, heavily involved in world domination via a computer version of Risk. After a while he looked up and commented about just how good it was. He meant the music, but I can't help but think my Kenwood KA-3500 and Technics SL-D2 (family room system) had a lot to do with it. Those old Kenwood amps are quite nice.
 
ZOMG, yeah. I built this entire system from CL, Goodwill, and word of mouth. The Kenny was suggested by a buddy of mine, The polks were from a CL ad, guy was asking $70, but I haggled down to $45, the Turntable was one of 2 I bought for $30, The Sony CD player was $8 at Goodwill, the Pioneer was a gift from a friend, the Cassette deck I've had since I was in High School, Christmas present. I also found that Peter Gabriel CD at Goodwill for $3.25 in mint condition. So yeah, the whole stereo cost me less than $300! :banana:
