My Home made La Scalas

I can never leave well enough alone. I have purchased a pair of banged up LaScalas on the cheap and now can compare them to my Clones. The titanium midrange and tweeters hold up reasonably but the Bass is leaving a lot to desire, the real LaScalas just have a better bass than the cheap 15" speakers im currently using in the doghouse, which was not a real surprise. Im going to order a set of woofers and type a Crossovers from Bob Cites as I already have the right sets of horns that Ive acquired along the way and then I will rebuild the Cabinet with the LaScala style Components. All I really have to do is cut a new front plate for the horns and the rest will just bolt up about the same.

There is also a mod that can be done to the bass bin that I am considering doing
It's fairly easy and if you are considering building a riser it is through the riser anyway. You may have seen it. It requires taking the bottom of the bass bin off, making the riser 10" tall and drilling 2 4" holes and adding 2-4" pieces of PVC about 7" long firing forward. Add a bit of insulation
This is supposed to help lower the bass response down to 32H
It's a simple mod that is easily revsersable. I already have the risers. I should be starting the rest of the project soon. I'm kind of waiting on new crossovers and tweeters from B&K first. I figure, one step at a time but my Lascalas aren't DIY's either. Just thought I'd let ya know about the MOD. You may already know about it.
Oh yeah, and why on earth would anybody want to paint the Lascalas Blue??
