Hey Folks,
I was at a local thrift the otehr day and saw these. I couldn't resist. They didn't weigh as much as I hoped, but I am a sucker for these big old cabinets. No markings on them anywhere.

So, I get them home and open them up. Some good things, and some that are just okay.

These are a two way system. They utilize a 12" alnico with whizzer cone, coupled to a heppenr horn. They sound fairly good.

What caught my eye almost right away is that the cabinets are solid oak - no veneer here. The front, back, bottom are particle board, but the balance is solid red oak. I love the size and and the look. They need a little clean up, but I am going to ewave these with a set of ev woofers and the zilch/giff ewave set up.

ANyone know if these are factory made, or home made?

Also, anyone recognize the woofer on these?

I was wondering what the speakers were in the picture on the Maximus thread, now I know. I'm thinking the woofers were something from Qui-Line...

Totally off topic: I'm surprised you haven't lugged the CL VOT bass cabs over to your house by now.

Dang it Gary, I didn't even see them. I was asleep at the wheel .I have snet a pm and will bring them home if I am in first place. I am not going to get any sleep tonight and it is all your fault.:D

I'll let you know what happens.

Sorry, I saw the VOT ad right after it went up and briefly thought about emailing you but I figured you would see them soon enough anyway.

A brief search of Qui-Line only shows other folks asking the same question you did. They look perfectly suited to tubes.

so, anyone know about Qui-line?
Anyone know if these are a "brand" or homemade?

TIA,
Mark

Nice find. Never heard of Qui-line, but they look like fairly decent drivers.

Whatever happened to the Karlsons you picked up a while ago?

I have an AK buddy that has refinished them for me. They are at his house . I am waiting to get a little time. I am going to go through his Dynaco as a swap. KIds go to school next week, so maybe I can get soem time to get together with him now.

I'll post some pics when I get the Karlsons back.
