My most important Sansui acquisition yet?

Hard to choose which would be the most important acquisition, but this most recent shipment from Japan sure was satisfying. And for the more Sansui afflicted, an interesting couple of variants.

Sansui 45 adapter on left came packaged and labeled in a baggie identified with a "929". I assume this adapter was from an SR-929. The "929" adapter has top side "Sansui" embossing and "SANSUI - ELECTRIC CO LTD - MADE IN JAPAN" on the underside. And additionally a notch not present on the right adapter. Right adapter "Sansui" on top, nothing underside and no notch.

Fun score! And a great match for my SR-838 and SR-222 MKii.

when‘s the opening of your Sansui Museum? Your collection must be impressive! :bigok:
Congrats!
Thanks! Maybe someday. I like the idea of a Sansui museum. My collection is getting up there in numbers, but probably not enough to warrant a formal brick and mortar, yet :).

Seems that I’ve seen a member signature here (who has passed away) that mentions a Sansui museum somewhere in Washington State. He has/had the same image that @Sansuiman has.

Just spotted a GEM on your turntable; interestingly, the RSB (Rundfunk-Sinfonieorchester Berlin) was founded in 1923 and celebrates its 100th anniversary in October!

Interesting fact! I sought that Berlin 45 out intentionally, but didn’t realize this is the 100th! Very cool. Thanks for pointing that out.

I think that might be 'nosirrah' who was moderator of the Sansui sub forum for a while. He had a big collection of Sansui's, it was a sad loss for AK when he passed, and for me too as I regarded him as a friend.

Need a new 'quest'? Find one of the 1960's APS console ' X ' 45 adapters, with the 'old' Sansui logo. :)

Only ever saw 'one' for sale - I bought it. Found it on eBay of all places.

It's all BIG fun!

Interesting! A worthy mission. I’m also still looking for Sansui interconnects from a thread you posted many years ago. Those seem to be in the “hens teeth” category too. Definitely BIG fun :).

Seen someone selling '5 pairs' of the 'High-Efficiency' interconnects, all in really nice shape too, all in one sale, on Yahoo-Japan about a couple of years ago. I really should have bought them - whatever it took.

You won't believe it but they ' all ' sold for $17. Shipping would have been costly ~ but that's Japan. I should have got them. I was in a 'bit of shock' when I saw the final sale price. Couldn't believe it.

Also, years ago - on Yahoo-Japan, I passed on an old wooden pair of the TALLish (10 inches high?), painted black, 'super rare' speaker stands too, with the Sansui logo. That was the only time I've ever seen those for sale too. Just really cool to have and use for a Sansui collector! No one else would even ' see it '. They would probably think - ' just old wooden junk - why don't you get some nice ones.' LOL.

The official Sansui dusting cloth. But this one is the ultra rare version with a GREEN logo, most are red. I have several in red, and just recently got a green one with original paperwork packet for a pair of SP-3700 speakers, of all things.

Edit to add, I have one of those semi-transparent Sansui 45 adapters. Also have some official Sansui RCA cables that came with my recently acquired QD-5500. Nothing to special, but do have the Sansui logo molded into the plugs.

I have one of those Sansui vinyl duster cloths just like that one - just checking ... no its red. But it is a mystery why since I know we never had a Sansui TT in our possession only integrated amps and tuners. It surprises me that some amps were sold with those soft rubber rca jack covers. But only two per amp. Finding them is difficult. You would think you could buy a bag of them for a few bucks.

PS-01. Saw one pair for sale 'once' about 2 years ago on Yahoo Japan. Can't remember what they sold for.
