My my, this does look nice (1970s GE all in one C771 vintage stereo)

picked this up today off craigslist. It works great and the receiver had just been serviced a year or two ago. Anybody have any more info about this setup? Can't seem to find anything online of note besides a low Rez catalog page I can't read.

It sounds... surprisingly good! Very bass heavy, but it's a party system. Was disappointed to not find an 8 ball in the turntable storage...

Super groovy, man. I have a black light somewhere I'm not using. I LOVE the look of that stuff. Unfortunately,I'm the only one in the house that likes MCM. I keep reminding her she's MCM too. Oh, WAIT! Maybe THAT'S it.

Downsides, low powered (under 10 real Watts/channel), all in one made when cheaper began taking over, and record changer which tracked a bit too heavy for comfort. Decent, but no Magnavox, Packard Bell, Zenith or upper end Sylvania. The last era for Decent General Electric.

I Love it! I have a soft spot for GE and that is killer! Who cares how it sounds or performs... it is beautiful! I'd put some real effort into restoring it and then display it for what it is... art!

The character Ralph Carnegie (played by the comedian Erik Griffin) in the Showtime Series I'm Dying Up Here has the exact same stereo. You can see it in tonight's episode (Season 1, Episode 6) starting at about the 55 minute mark.

Bravo, that's a score lattiboy! I dig those 60-70's GE's, that was the end of GE quality. I still have an old P776G sporting a groovy lavender dial! It needs a new power supply.
