My new additions - Belles

I just picked up some Oak Belles last week. They are in excellent condition. Ive always wanted a pair of Belles. Just started listening to them....so far they sound better than the LaScalas yet they are supposed to be same....but I need to do more comparisons and play around with placement....

Now I need to do some serious comparisons as some of my speakers have to go....I now own - Heresys, Khorns, LaScalas, Cornwalls, Chorus, Belles...Khorns are defintely staying and so are the Belles....but have to make some room....as you can tell from the pix.

if you are so inclined....

why don't you try the vent mod for the Chorus? I don't have any specific links for you but IIRC the mod involved extending the vent length to about 7 inches. The Chorus will provide better bass than the Cornwall and in a more domestic package which also positions the horns up to a realistic height.
The new Belle's look great. You have a very nice problem on your hands, one many would envy. Good luck with the cull. Best regards Moray James.

You might see if you find this to be the case:

The Belle & LaScala are supposed to be similar but not nessarily the same. The midrange on the Belle is smaller and some might feel the LaScala has a better midrange. (point to LaScala?)

The Bell has shorter depth than the LaScala and the net effect of that is the sides are not as large and maybe do not resonate as bad as they do on the LaScalas (point to Belle?)

As Moray says, you have a very nice problem on your hands! I've always LOVED the looks of the Belle's

That's one heck of a line up you've got there! I never realized how much larger the Belles were over the La Scalas. Looks like it might be time to make the Heresys to walk the plank, (we always pick on the little guy). Followed by steel cage match between the Chorus and the Cornwall, unless you think the Belles and La Scalas are too alike sonically. Good luck with your problem.

Thanks for the input guys...yes it is a good problem to have....good thing is that I am in no rush to get rid any of the them...just know that I will need to....

The LaScala mid range is definitely more in your face and tends to over power the bass....The Belles are much more balanced to my ears....

Chorus and Cornwalls are close....
