I may have missed it, but I don't think it was stated what the exterior of the Condo was covered with? IF stucco, it will most likely be over mesh. That's an RF blanket. It does two things, it keeps stray Rf inside the building and blocks external signals. Your base loaded whip outside, horizontal and working seems to suggest wall blockage? Also, the comment about "too high" seems to indicate the same - you're getting up above the window into the header area where the exterior stucco/mesh may be too?

That all REALLY makes sense! Sounds just like whats happening.

OBTW- I have hereditary kidney stones (from dad). Now days they say to take meds and drink plenty of fluids to help them pass (yeah sure ). In the old days, they'd say buy a case or two of beer and pi** that bugger out now !!

Incidently:

1) Should anyone want the construction details of this specific version of the FM quad.. just PM me.

2) In case anyone was wondering about the other stuff in the photo..

On the black chest, there are 3 AM loops.
The small black one is a Terk.
The other 2, at angles to each other, are a tuned loop and the so called
"ultimate" AM loop described on several AK-tuners threads.
They are at the best angle to work together.
The tuned feeds the ultimate, and are positioned for greatest nulling and
strongest signal.

As you can see, I've been experimenting ;-)

Also on there is a Sonic Impact Super-T-amp and a Laffyette tube tuner
thats mono FM with MPX out and simulcast capable for a great AM section.
It also has a cool "cats eye" tuning meter.
Also a pair of simple rabbit ears on top of tuner.
Those are all connected together, and over in the window area....
partly for experimentation purposes.

The speaker cab near the door, is an old (early 60s) Norelco/Phillips
Hi-Eff 12 inch with whizzer that my dad bought as an extension spkr for
his mono "hi-fi set".
I forget the model number but it works/sounds great with the T-amp
and tube tuner!

Peeking out at left of frame, above the couch.. is the back corner of my
turntable.. a WellTempered...
With some pretty blue superduper interconnects.

oh man, Greg - many stones - and one in the tube already - I'm so sorry to hear that. Much longer treatment window - but I'm sure they can push it back up, then blast them out. I have faith.

As for then "peeing the blasted bits out", hopefully they can examine them to find out their composition - to maybe change your diet to help prevent them from coming back. They gave me a funnel / screen to pee thru afterwards to capture any bits of stone. No luck. The bits DID come out, but not while I was peeing....if you know what I mean (!!)......and umm......I really didn't know how to 'stop' the action so I could say "umm, I need to take this into my doctor". LOL

And for what's it's worth, I have a close friend that has been on dialysis for about two years after kidney failure, and it changes your life dramatically - and your diet - but IS manageable. He finally got the news he will be getting a transplant from a sister next July.

I got the funnel thingy too.. been using it since fri, but no luck.

RE: the dialysis: I reeeeeally hope that doesn't become nescessary.
I'm looking into alternatives.

Funny thing is... right now, I can tell its sooo close.
To passing.
The pain... last few days is now between navel and pubic bone area.
Lower and lower every day.

Matter of fact... I just went.. I can feel it... its RIGHT there... trying to come
out. Right at the bladder exit...

At this moment... the PAIN is UNREEEEEAL!!
AARRRGH!!!

Wouldn't you know... I just took 2 Advil.. cuz the codeine messes
up my stomach to much.
Advil does the trick when its not to bad..
Right now it just AINT cuttin it!
4 to 6 hrs to wait till I can take something stronger.

I've been dreading this moment...
When it goes to exit the bladder, then on to 'ol willie...
It can't be a very big opening, and thats what seems to be happening
now.
After that.. Poor 'ol willie!

I think I gotta go now... I need to just sit and deal with it..
